Mission: Digital Storytelling: What It Means To Be Good Friends?

Another one of the two missions given for the course of technology and material design for this week was to create a digital stroytelling video. Because my pair is one of my good fellows in school, we chose the subject about what means to be a good friends.













First, we thought about what materials we could use on the video. We had many ideas in mind, but eventually we decided to create our own avatars through Bitmoji, So it would be a symbol to represent ourselves on the video. Then to edit the video, we used the fusion of Movie Maker and Powerpoint. while recording our sounds, we had many difficulties such as synchronizing and interrupting. But we saw we created a very beautiful product when we succeeded.

Mobile Apps for Mobile Learning: Busuu

Technology goes on and on. This, of course, also affects education. Now everyone is able to learn the language from smartphones in their pocket. That's why I will introduce an application that will allow you to learn your language from your smartphone this week.

I will introduce you Busuu; a language learning application. Firstly, you sign up and choose what language you want to learn. And here is the application to order! 

There are many relevant and enriched exercises in this app. You can progress step by step from beginner to upper intermediate. 

















The subject you have finished working on is painted blue. The subject that you are working on has a blue ring. The ones you have not started yet are white.

















You can also learn tips and tricks of phrases you learn while doing the excersizes. 








The most important feature that distinguishes this application from others is that it is possible to get help from native speakers who use this application. You can also help people learning Turkish as a native speaker of Turkish. This feature provides a great social network to this app.






















To conclude, Busuu is a great app for learning English. Especially with its interactive interface, it leaves behind other mobile learning applications.

Mission, Wikispaces; Suicide Squad Film Review

Hello everyone!

This week we experienced Wikispaces. I want to give some information about that. 

Wikispaces is a platform which we can create online classes. And in these classes, students can write their own writing in collaboration.

This week our task were writing a film review which took an academy award, so we chose Suicide Squad which received the best hair and makeup design award. In this task, Ahmet Enes was my pair and we both love comic-based movies. Firstly, we created both a wikispaces account, and we create a wiki. Then e started to review by gathering concrete information like the director and casting from the internet. Then we add our personal thoughts about the movie and we finished our review by making recommendations. 

We have added some pictures, gifs, a poster and trailer to make our review more attractive.

I have a lot of fun while doing this week's task because I can describe myself as a "cinephilia" I love watching movies and talking about this, I also learned how to use Wikispace this week so I am very happy.

Mission, Podcast: the Kid With the Balloon

Hello everyone!
This week, the task given to us was to create and publish a podcast, There were three options, we chose to create a sound-rich stroy with my friend Ahmet Enes Özdemir.

Firstly, we thought about the plot. Even it took around 2 minutes. We want to create a different plot line. So we put some twist in our story :) After that, we collect the sound effects that fits our story.

 And then, we started to rehearse! We didn't want to make a podcast start-stop like. Because it wouldn't be a real solid "podcast" So we tried and tried again everytime we made a mistake. It was hard but finally we could do a flawless podcast! We couldn't say that we did not laugh while doing these, some phonetic and regional mistakes laughed us hard! I hope you'll enjoy as much as we did!

The learning of the 21st century is made up of various elements. Learning can take place in every area of ​​life, or life can be long. Students are more active in the classroom and in-action with the teacher since the last 10 years.  In this period, many devices dominate our life, these are smartphones, tablets and computers.

 And this development also affect the style of education. As classes have full of technologic devices,  The need to use these tools in education has emerged. The children of our time born with those, so that teachers must develop their teaching styles to catch up the time of theirs.
